CFC Hosts largest Florida U.S. Senate Candidates Forum in the state!
On Saturday, February 27th, 2010, the Christian Family Coalition hosted the 2010 U.S. Senate Candidates Forum, Florida’s largest Senate Candidates Forum this year! More than five-hundred (500) attendees gathered at the Doubletree Hotel in Miami, Florida to listen to all the major Republican and Democratic Party candidates for the United States Senate.


Christian Family Coalition Hosts "2010 Day at the Capitol"
On Thursday, March 25th, the Christian Family Coalition hosted its second "Day At The Capitol" in Tallahassee, Florida. The first year the CFC hosted a "Day At The Capitol" twenty-two (22) people showed up, this year sixty-two (62) participants attended, nearly three times more than the first time!
 
House Council Passes Parental Notification Bill! 
On April 13th, 2010, Criminal & Civil Justice Policy Council passed, with both Republican and Democratic support, by an 11-4 margin HB 1449, which will strengthen Florida's parental notification law!  While the ACLU and Planned Parenthood of Florida each testified against the bill, CFC was the only organization in the state to testify in support of the bill!
 
Florida House of Representatives Adopts Pro-Family Resolution
On April 19th, 2010, the Florida House of Representatives adopted publication HR 9073, a resolution observing National Parents' Day throughout the state on July 25, 2010. This resolution was first proposed and supported by the Christian Family Coalition and Parental Rights of Florida as part of our 2010 Statewide Legislative Agenda.
 
Florida Legislature Passes Protection of School Speech Bill!

Prohibits district school boards, administrative personnel, and instructional personnel from taking away the rights or freedoms afforded by the First Amendment to the United States Constitution.  This bill is necessary because last year the ACLU of Florida took some Santa Rosa County school teachers to court and threatened to have them arrested and put in jail for exercising their constitutional right to freedom of religion. In fact, at one point it got so bad that teachers were threatened for wearing a cross and having a Bible on their desk!  On Wednesday, April 28th, the Christian Family Coalition sent out an action alert to ALL members of the Florida House.  One day later, on Thursday, April 29th, the Florida State House passed the bill passed by a margin of 107 to 8. The bill passed the Senate 27 to 9 and signed by Florida Governor Charlie Crist.

 
Florida State Senate Passes Unborn Victims of Violence Act!

Defines the term "unborn child" for purposes of vehicular homicide. Revises terminology to refer to "unborn child" rather than "viable fetus." On Monday, April 26, the Christian Family Coalition sent out an action alert to ALL the members of the State Senate.  Three days later, on Thursday, April 29th, the State Senate passed the bill by a margin of 25-11.

 

Florida State Legislature Rejects Anti-Family Bills!
The Christian Family Coalition personally lobbied approximately fifty (50) House members and eighteen (18) Senate members, including the Speaker of the House and the Senate President against the following bills: Homosexual Adoption, So-Called "Comprehensive Sex Education" in Government Schools, Domestic Partner Registry, Anti-Christian Discrimination Law.
 
After Political Pressure from Christian Family Coalition, Pro-Life Ultrasound Bill Passes Florida State Legislature, Vetoed By Florida Governor Crist
A week after the Christian Family Coalition called Florida State Senator Andy Gardiner on the carpet for walking out on his own bill, the Florida Parental Notification Bill, he (Senator Gardiner) made amends by attaching the ultrasound bill to a related health-care proposal, which passed both the State Senate and the State House, but was ultimately vetoed by Governor Charlie Crist.
 
Christian Family Coalition Organizes Historic Support for Florida Pro-Life Ultrasound Bill!
For the first time ever, the Common-Sense Coalition, a multi-ethnic, multi-generational, multi-racial, bi-partisan statewide coalition of civil and human rights organizations in Florida representing more than one million voters endorsed the pro-life ultrasound bill, this followed by endorsements from the American College of Pediatricians, South Florida women's rights leaders, and ten (10) female state representatives in the Florida State House.
 
Christian Family Coalition Hosts 2010 Candidates Victory Forum
This year's event was by far the single largest candidate’s forum with over three-hundred (300) guests in attendance and twenty-seven (27) candidates speaking.  "We are so blessed to have the support of so many corporations and candidates in the community who served on this year's Host Committee, without them along with all of our wonderful members and supporters, we could have not pulled this off", stated Anthony Verdugo, Founder and Executive Director, Christian Family Coalition.
 
Christian Family Coalition Welcomes New County Director For Palm Beach County
The Christian Family Coalition (CFC) announces the appointment of Mark D. Boykin, as the Director of the CFC’s new created Palm Beach County Office based in Boca Raton, Florida. In his new position, Mark D. Boykin will work to protect basic human rights and advocate for civil liberties and social justice, for all, including people of faith.
 
CFC Hosts largest Gubernatorial and Attorney General Candidate's Forums in Florida!
On Saturday, August 7th, 2010, the Christian Family Coalition hosted two back-to-back Gubernatorial and Attorney General Candidate's Forums in South Florida, drawing a record-breaking crowd of over 600 people.
 
Pro-Family Candidates Supported by CFC Score Huge Election Victories!
On Tuesday, August 24th, 2010, 65% of fair-minded pro-family candidates supported by the Christian Family Coalition won smashing election victories all throughout South Florida, (Miami-Dade 75%, Broward 62%, Palm Beach 60%), a total of thirty-six (36) candidates.
 
Christian Family Coalition Hosts Kick-Off Breakfast in Palm Beach with Lizbeth Benacquisto
On Saturday, October 16th, the Christian Family Coalition hosted its kick-off breakfast in Palm Beach County with former Wellington Councilwoman, and state senate candidate for District 27, Lizbeth Benacquisto.
 
Christian Family Coalition Hosts 2010 Family, Faith & Freedom Luncheons in Multiple South Florida Counties!
On Saturday, June 19th, 2010, the Christian Family Coalition launched its latest chapter in  Palm Beach County and it was officially kicked-off with its 2010 Family, Faith & Freedom Luncheon at the home of Rev. Mark & Beth Boykin in Boca Raton, Florida.  Over one-hundred (100) peopleattended this successful event at which Mr. Joel Oster, Senior Legal Counselfor the Alliance Defense Fund was the keynote speaker.  Joel discussed the importance of retaining our religious liberties in America. On Saturday, September 11th, the Christian Family Coalition hosted its annual Family, Faith & Freedom Luncheon at the home of Dr. Elizabeth & Eliezer Veguilla in Pinecrest, Florida, where nearly one-hundred (100) peoplewere in attendance!

CFC Opens Election Central Headquarters on Tuesday, November 2nd!
On Tuesday, November 2nd, 2010, the Christian Family Coalition opened CFC Election Central Headquarters in which Florida voters were provided continuous election results via our website cfcoalition.com.  That evening, over 10,000 Florida voters went to our website to get the latest election results from all across Florida and the U.S.
 
CFC Hosts Kick-Off Breakfast in Broward County with Allen West
On Saturday, October 30th, the Christian Family Coalition hosted its kick-off breakfast in Broward County with our keynote speaker Allen West, U.S. Congressional candidate, District 22, also featured were Patrick Laffey, State Senate candidate, District 32 and Adriana Gonzalez, head of Florida Parental Rights.
 
CFC Election Accomplishments Featured in Sunshine State News!
On Friday, November 12th, 2010, the Christian Family Coalition's 2010 mid-term election accomplishments in Florida were featured in Sunshine State News.  "We are very proud of the work we accomplished during this critical election cycle, as a result of our efforts, over 81% of CFC-backed candidates won their respective races while fully two-thirds of homosexual-backed candidates lost their elections, we now expect candidates turned elected officials to govern as they promised during their campaigns," stated Verdugo, Founder and Executive Director, Christian Family Coalition.

Today, the Christian Family Coalition congratulated Florida State Senator Anitere Flores, District 38, on her appointment as Majority Whip in the State Senate. 
 
Christian Family Coalition Hosts 2010 Gala Victory Dinner with Florida U.S. Senator George LeMieux
On Friday, December 3rd, the Christian Family Coalition hosted its 2010 Gala Victory Dinner at Signature Gardens in Miami, Florida with Florida U.S. Senator George LeMieux. More than three-hundred (300) attendees were treated Victor Clairmont's performance of the National Anthem along with a presentation of the colors by the Cuban-American Veterans Association (C.A.V.A.).

Christian Family Coalition Successfully Restores Nativity Scene to Boca Raton City Hall!
On Friday, December 10th, the Christian Family Coalition along with Pastor Mark D. Boykin, Sr. Pastor at Church of All Nations and Palm Beach Coordinator for the Christian Family Coalition held a press conference at Boca Raton City Hall to successfully restore the nativity scene for the ChristmasSeason. 
 
Christian Family Coalition Hosts One Dozen Events with Florida Top Political Stars All Across South Florida!
In 2010, the Christian Family Coalition hosted a total of twelve events in three counties (Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach).  Florida's top political superstars visited the Christian Family Coalition events in 2010, including, but not limited to:  Former U.S. Rep. Kendrick Meek, U.S. Senator-Elect Marco Rubio, Florida Governor Charlie Crist, Florida Governor-Elect Rick Scott, Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum, Florida Attorney-General Elect Pam Bondi, Florida U.S. Congressman-Elect Allen West, and Florida U.S. Senator George LeMieux, among others.

During the 2010 calendar year, the Christian Family Coalition was named in over 1,000 newspaper, radio and television stories, from Newsmax, the New York Times and the Huffington Post, to the St. Petersburg Times, the Orlando Sentinel and the Miami Herald, among many others. 
 
Christian Family Coalition Florida Voter Files Increases Exponentially!
Over the past year, the CFC Florida voter files have increased substantially, tripling in size, from 70,000 to over 233,000 fair-minded, pro-life,
pro-family voters.!
 
Christian Family Coalition Wins Lawsuits Against Florida Libraries! 
In what are considered history-setting judicial precedents, both the Volusia and Osceola County, Florida, libraries settled a federal lawsuit with the Christian Family Coalition to allow access to their facilities by religious groups.  Previous policies in both counties had stated specifically excluded religious groups from using their taxpayer-funded public facilities.  
 
Florida Governor-Elect Rick Scott Responds to the Christian Family Coalition Request to Drop QuePasa.com Stocks
As reported by the Huffington Post website, not exactly a bastion of conservatism, on November 19th, 2010,  under the headline, "Rick Scott's Playboy Connection Gets Him In Trouble With Conservative Group", Scott complied with the Christian Family Coalition's request when he issued the following statement:  "Mr. Scott will move his money into a blind trust and will remove himself from the decision-making when it comes to his investments," Scott spokesman Brian Burgess told WESH, though he admitted that he couldn't guarantee that the new fund wouldn't continue to invest in QuePasa or Playboy, for that matter.
