Challenges Hate at The Herald!
MIAMI, FL -Today, the Christian Family Coalition (CFC), Florida's premier human rights and social justice organization fighting for your rights, announced that a third Florida newspaper viciously and violently attacked and mocked supporters of SB-98, the Religious Equality (Freedom to Pray), which has already passed the Florida legislature with broad, bi-partisan. Governor Rick Scott has already agreed to sign the bill.
On Sunday, March 4th, Miami Herald columnist Myriam Marquez wrote a hate-filled and mocking "hit piece" titled "What an uninspiring bunch, Lord," asking what is the point of religious equality. The "hit piece" was written in the form of a prayer and openly mocked and offended the Christian faith, of course, in today's hallowed halls of the media, that is a good thing, but it doesn't have to be this way.
The only reason these so-called journalists feel free to attack people of faith, particularly Christians, is because they know we will remain silent and DO NOTHING about it. Thus, we bring the mockery and disrespect of our faith and our Lord upon ourselves, shame on us, we are guilty and complicit when we say nothing!
The Christian Family Coalition (CFC) is doing something about this. On Monday, March 12th, eight days after this "hit piece" appeared, the Miami Herald agreed to publish our editorial response.
