|HISTORIC VICTORY! What did the CFC achieve?|
Christian Family Coalition (CFC) expands the rights of churches in Miami-Dade County!
MIAMI-The Christian Family Coalition (CFC), Florida's premiere human rights and social justice advocacy organization fighting for your rights, announced today the unanimous passage of two historic ordinance changes by the Miami-Dade County Commission at their final meeting of the year on Tuesday, December 18th, 2012. The ordinances implemented at the start of the New Year, enables churches, non-profit schools and non-profits to fundraise.
The Christian Family Coalition (CFC), was instrumental in bringing community leaders and County Commissioners together to modify existing ordinances. The modified ordinances now allow churches and schools who own their property to have 2 fund raising carnivals a year on their property without the overly restrictive petition gathering process. Churches and schools can also now have clothing collection bins on their owned property. This enables churches to collect clothes for the community, missions or fundraising.
“We thank the CFC for their help in this major religious freedom victory for churches and religious organizations in Miami-Dade”, stated John Svadbik, Director of International Christian Relief Missions. Svadbik further stated ”This will bring much needed funds for the local churches to help meet the needs of the local community and missions projects.”
