MEET THE MAYOR WHO IS MAKING THE DIFFERENCE!
MIAMI-Today, the Christian Family Coalition (CFC), Florida’s premiere human rights and social justice organization, called City of Doral Mayor, Luigi Boria, one of the most courageous new mayors in all of South Florida. Boria, a former city councilman, an entrepreneur and ordained minister, was elected in November, 2012, as the city’s new mayor, in the process making him the first Venezuelan native elected to run a city in Florida.
“He has shown true leadership in guiding the city of Doral and its residents on the right path. Upon his election, one of the first things he did was to ensure that a Nativity Scene was placed alongside a Menorah at City Hall during the holiday season. This display of true respect and tolerance for our Judeo-Christian heritage is something the previous mayor never did, furthermore, he has continued to honor religious diversity through his work with the city’s faith-based advisory committee.” stated Anthony Verdugo, Founder and Executive Director, Christian Family Coalition (CFC).
Tomorrow, Thursday, May 2rd, is the 61st annual National Day of Prayer, and Mayor Boria will lead, for the first time, a special event at City Hall in recognition of this very special day for all Americans.
