MIAMI, FL – This Monday, August 26th, 2013 at 10 AM, a coalition of prominent South Florida civil and human rights organizations will hold a joint press conference at Miami-Dade County Hall located at 111 NW 1st Street, Miami, Florida, to make a major announcement on the so-called "sexual identity and expression" ordinance.
South Florida leaders issued the following Joint Statement:
"Although proposed 'Transsexual' ordinance sponsors announced its withdrawal, ideological extremists continue to wage deceitful, behind-the-scenes, so-called 're-education' to fool Miami-Dade County Commissioners into re-introducing this unjust and discriminatory law in the near future. This Monday, August 26th, leading South Florida human rights organizations, united in their determination to protect the human and civil rights of Miami-Dade residents, will reveal exactly what this ideologically-motivated proposed ordinance will and will not do and what they will seek in the days ahead."
