The Christian Family Coalition (CFC), Florida's premiere human rights and social justice advocacy organization,  announced today the launch of its NO to Discrimination Challenge campaign.  The challenge urges Commissioners Audrey Edmonson and Bruno Barreiro, sponsors of the recently defeated, "TRANSSEXUAL" ordinance to do the right thing, and sign the challenge promising not bring this issue back to Miami-Dade County.

After suffering a stinging defeat, extremists have threatened to bring back this dangerous and discriminatory law in the very near future.

The discriminatory "transsexual" proposal, endangers public safety.  It allows men who dress as women or pretend to be women, to use women's bathrooms, dressing rooms, showers and locker rooms.  Furthermore, it leads to discrimination against any individual or business who disagrees, people have been threatened and even fired from jobs because of this and similar policies.

Joint Statement issued by human rights groups:

"We need to unite, not divide, our community, we ask all Miami-Dade residents to send your email NOW, asking Commissioners Edmonson and Barreiro to sign the accept the NO to Discrimination Challenge; by doing so, they are building a bridge of tolerance and understanding in our community.  Furthermore, signing the Challenge allows us to move on to more important issues such as creating more jobs and affordable housing"
