|39 Lawmakers Agree: CFC FL’s Priorities have Bipartisan Support|
2014 CFC Day at the Capitol a Smashing Success!
On Wednesday, March 12th and Thursday, March 13th, Christian Family Coalition Florida (CFCF) lobbyists took action in Tallahassee to show broad and bipartisan support for the CFCF's 2014 legislative priorities.
Our first priority, American Laws for American Courts, ensures that Florida's state courts will not apply any foreign law or foreign legal doctrine if the application of that foreign law or foreign legal doctrine would result in the violation of a party’s Constitutional Rights. ALAC is designed to protect individual, fundamental constitutional rights.
Our second priority, Offenses Against the Unborn, states that a person who engages in conduct that violates Florida Criminal Code or criminal offense defined by another statute & causes death of, or bodily injury to unborn child commits a separate offense, specifies that certain types of knowledge or intent are not necessary for such offense.
CFC supporters traveled to Tallahassee to meet with a total of thirty-nine (39) lawmakers including Senators Anitere Flores (R-Miami-Dade), Aaron Bean (R-Duval) and Alan Hayes (R-Orange), among others.
On the House side, we also met with an impressive group of bi-partisan lawmakers such as: Daphne Campbell (D-Miami-Dade), Richard Stark (D-Broward), Jose Felix Diaz (R-Miami-Dade), Jeanette Nunez (R-Miami-Dade), Carlos Trujillo (R-Miami-Dade) & Frank Artiles (R-Miami-Dade), as well as many more!.
"There is no substitute for direct citizen lobbying action, CFCF's lobbying efforts secured thirty-two (32) co-sponsors/supporters on our legislative priorities. Nineteen (19) co-sponsors and supporters on American Laws for American Courts and thirteen (13) co-sponsors and supporters on the Offenses Against the Unborn Bill.", concluded Anthony Verdugo, Founder and Executive Director, Christian Family Coalition (CFC).
