MIAMI-Today, the Christian Family Coalition Florida (CFCF), Florida's premiere human rights and social justice advocacy organization announced the status of its 2014 legislative priorities in Tallahassee:
Our first priority, American Laws for American Courts, ensures that Florida's state courts will not apply any foreign law or foreign legal doctrine if the application of that foreign law or foreign legal doctrine would result in the violation of a party’s Constitutional Rights. ALAC is designed to protect individual, fundamental constitutional rights.
Status: So far it has passed all its assigned committees in the House and Senate:
Favorable by House Civil Justice Subcommittee; YEAS 7 NAYS 4
Senate Favorable by Senate Judiciary; YEAS 6 NAYS 3 -SJ 335
Senate Favorable by Senate Governmental Oversight and Accountability; YEAS 6 NAYS 2
It is now before the Rules Committee on Wednesday, April 9th, at for final approval.
Our second priority, Offenses Against the Unborn, states that a person who engages in conduct that violates Florida Criminal Code or criminal offense defined by another statute & causes death of, or bodily injury to unborn child commits a separate offense, specifies that certain types of knowledge or intent are not necessary for such offense.
Status: Has now passed ALL its committee assignments in the House and Senate awaiting final approval by the state legislature:
